Tower of London

The White Tower, Tower of London
The White Tower, completed in 1097, is at the centre of this historic castle. The Tower of London has seen some of the bloodiest moments in English history, such as the execution of Anne Boleyn in 1536 and the murder of Edward IV's two young sons in 1483. Highlights of the collections in the Tower are the priceless crown jewels. The colourfully dressed Beefeaters act as guides, while the resident ravens are a favourite with children: legend has it that if the birds ever leave, the Tower and the monarchy will fall.
